To all those who recommended the Lowe Family Wine Zinfandel

To all those who recommended the Lowe Family Wine Zinfandel well played.... you done good. It’s made from unirrigated and un-trellised Zinfandel bush vines that are rooted in a bed of stone, shale and quartz, exciting stuff for soil nerds. They also happen to be farmed organically and biodynamically. So, what does this actually mean for the finished product? Well, the has a nose of plums, mulberry, prunes and Christmas cake, floral prettiness and a slight cedar note. There’s no shortage of fruit on the palate, all dark, fresh and dried, cinnamon, all spice, dusty tannin adding ample grip, and the finish, lengthy, very lengthy. You wouldn’t describe this as a shy wine but that’s Zin so I’m led to believe. Could it be Australia’s best? Probably I’d say 👌🏽🍷🙏🏼
