Super interesting, complex and packed with intrigue this 2020 Pinot Noir from Jackson Brooke, Cobboboonee Vineyard, Henty. Colour, faded strawberry, as always is light and semi-translucent. The nose is led by cherry and cranberry with a good dose of spiciness, hedgerow, and sappiness, perhaps even a touch smoky as it unfurls. The palate has deceptive weight given it’s slimline appearance with ripe cherry, red grapefruit, orange rind and a brambly quality. Good acidity, a little herbal twang, and fine tannin add further layers of interest. Very good, better with a good hour or two to open 👏🏼🍷🙏🏼
