There’s no substitute for passion and purpose in the winemaking process and here’s a wine that represents both in spades, Anderson Fort ‘Mia Mia’ Shiraz 2016, quite possibly a benchmark wine in the making. It’s immediately captivating, both visually and aromatically, as the deep inky purples hues emit notes of blackberry and dark plums, beautifully spiced and wrapped in expertly managed oak. The palate is a lesson in richness, acidity, grip and balance as blackberry, black cherry, and dark plum notes sit amongst toasted spices, black pepper, tobacco and cedar, graphite tannins wrap the lot and scatter across the rather epically long finish. These boys know what they’re doing!! 🙏🏼🍷👏🏼
