⭐️89/100⭐️ SAFaDO Vinhos Lot 119 “O Não É Garantido”, 2019 📍Murteira, Lisboa, Portugal🇵🇹 🍇 Alicante Branco / Seara Nova / Boal (%?) ⚡️11,5% Tasted: February 2021 Brand new project from Portuguese Emanuel Frutuoso , who takes care of a small area of vines from his wife’s grandfather, consisting of different old vines planted in the 1950s. He organically cultivates the vines, and during the winemaking process, more or less nothing are added nor taken. “Safado” means something close to a naughty or roguish person - a charming and seductive Don Juan. And his wines are, indeed, playful and seductive! This wine is made from early harvested grapes (picked August 23rd !!!) grown on limestone and clay soils. It’s fermented in steel tank and used oak barrels with indigenous yeast before 10 months elevage in used oak. No fining and filtration. - Total acidity: 7,1 g/l Already from the very first scent, you know you’re about to have something refreshing and interesting. Vibrant aromas of fresh green apple, lime juice, crushed chalk and soured dairy product mixed with a gentle, but clear, touch of volatile acids. The palate is medium-bodied with great acidity and a sick minerality offering fresh green gooseberries, apple, lemon zest and juice and anise. It’s quite vegetal (green bitter stem and fresh leaves) and got a funny mild milkiness mixed with a tiny touch of tannins. Would be absolutely sick with oysters!
