Smith's Lane Reserve Heathcote Shiraz 2017 Price: $18 Rating: B Above Average Recommendation: Buy Bargain Dark fruit, soft but enough moody spice to tick all the right boxes. A very good little number from @smiths _lane_wines I reviewed their Barossa Shiraz back in October with a ‘Ridiculous Value’ recommendation. I give this the same recommendation, ‘Ridiculous Value’. I do love and appreciate (even amazed) how a winery can deliver such a wine to the bottle shop shelf or your home for under $20. I find myself saying “that was $20 bucks” with the surprised excitement of finding a little pot of gold. Actually considering both wines, they would be perfect for a side by side tasting at your own dinner party. These really show the difference between Heathcote and Barossa Shiraz.
