Il Farneto is a biodiverse farm of 34 hectares, 8 of which are vineyard, located in the hills of Scandiano and Canossa, in Emilia-Romagna. Farming is organic, biodynamic [certified] and low intervention. Grapes are from 20 year old vines in clay and chalk soils at 300 meters in elevation. Fermented in concrete tanks, after malolactic fermentation moved to old tonneaux for 1 year ageing, followed by 1 year ageing in concrete. Blackberry, morello cherry, pomegranate, bramble, flinty minerality and black olive are flanked by firm tannins and fresh acidity.
