The 90 year old vines are located in volcanic soils between the slopes of Mt. Etna and the Alcantara Valley in Castiglione di Sicilia. Spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, aged in used oak barriques. Red-violet in colour, with aromas of black currant, strawberry, smoky earth, licorice and roasted chipotle pepper. Black cherry, pomegranate, rose petal and roasted herbs are framed by fresh acidity and firm tannins. Blackberry, black cherry, black pepper and smoky minerality infuse the lush finish.
