Dating back to the 14th century, the Glögglhof estate sits at the edge of the city Bolzano, in the heart of the famed Santa Maddalena appellation. Franz and Florian Gojer are dedicated to cultivating indigenous varietals Schiava [Vernatsch] and Lagrein. Grapes are hand harvested from vineyards 600 meters above sea level. Soils are light, sandy porphyry based with ice age deposits of granite, basalt and gneiss. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, bottled in April. Transparent ruby in colour, with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, cherry and dusty earth. Flavours expand on the aromas; strawberry, raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, earth, white pepper and a wisp of smoke flanked by fine black tea tannins and fresh acidity. Black currant and cranberry linger on the mineral driven finish. Silky, bright and fresh. 100% Vernatsch/Schiava 13% Alcohol Franz Gojer Glögglhof ‘Alte Reben’ Vernatsch Südtiroler DOC 2019 #lowintervention #sustainablefarming #vinoaltoadige #vinoitaliano #nofilter #italianwinelover #altoadigewines #winereview #vinorosso #sudtirolo #redwine #instavino #winestagram #italianwine #instawine #schiava #vernatsch #sudtirol l_lovers #glogglhof #altereben #franzgojer #caravino
