Passionate about preserving ancient winemaking traditions, Nino Barraco focuses on native grapes and single vineyard wines, using organic and low intervention methods. Located in extreme western Sicily, Nino’s vineyards stretch along the coast. Grapes are from a vineyard 30 meters from the sea, with limestone and red soils. Fermented with native yeasts, 1day skin contact in stainless steel, followed by ageing in concrete, no added SO2. Gold in colour, with aromas of apple, apricot, baked pear, wildflowers, earth and sea spray. Apricot, nectarine, yellow apple, a trace of white flowers are glossed by citrus acidity. Nuts, peach, pink grapefruit and saline minerality linger between each sunny sip.
