Ciro Picariello and his wife started began bottling their own wines in 2004, and quickly became renowned for their Fiano di Avellino. Located in Campania, their 7 hectares of vineyards are farmed using organic and low intervention practices. This is the estate’s entry level Fiano. Grapes are from a 4 hectare vineyard planted in 1992 in the village of Summonte. Soils are clay, loam and sandstone. Grapes were selected from the vines that are less well exposed at 650 meters in elevation. Fermented for 60 days with native yeasts, aged 5 months in stainless steel followed by 2 months in the bottle. Light gold in colour with delicate aromas of lemon, pear, pink grapefruit, wild flowers, and Mediterranean herbs. Pear, lemon, candied ginger, an herbaceous hint along with flinty minerality are glossed by fresh acidity. Mandarin orange, lemon zest and a streak of almond infuse the lengthy finish. Silky, round and lush. 100% Fiano 13.5% Alcohol Ciro Picariello Fiano Irpinia DOP 2017 #fiano #campaniawine #irpiniawine #vinnaturel #vinobiologico #vinvivant #vinonaturale #lowintervention #organicwine #drinkbetter #drinkitalian #vinnature #winegeek #winelife #nattywine #vinoitaliano #vinobianco #whitewine #irpiniawine #instavino #winestagram #instawine #winereview #ciropicariello #caravino
