2009 Domaine François Lamarche - Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les
6/27/2021, 9:59:00 AM 2009 Domaine François Lamarche - Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes (91 pts)· ℹ️ The wine was tasted single blind in a flight of 2009 Pinot Noirs. This wine is 💯 Pinot Noir from a Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru vineyard in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France. The vineyard is Clay Limestone soil with an average vine age of 40 years old. Hand harvested and destemmed 80-100% depending on vintage conditions. Aged in French oak barrels from 16-20 months with 60-100% new oak depending on vintage. Bottled unfiltered· 👁 Medium ruby color· 👃 Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of ripe red cherry, strawberry, oak, cedar, rhubarb, earthy, and a slight herbal note· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium chalky tannins, medium+ alcohol, and medium+ body. A medium+ length finish of red cherry and rhubarb· 🔔 Another slightly aged red Burgundy. This showcased the 2009 vintage a bit more for me than the previous wine in terms of typicity for the warmer year. The alcohol was slightly higher and so was the overall body of the wine. Blind I thought this could have been Volnay and NSG, likely to not factoring in the known vintage. This wine is very enjoyable at this time. It may still improve, but these can be hard to forget about in the cellar· 😎 In Blind, We Trust
