2010, 2012, & 2015 Domaine Bernard Zito - Saint Romain La Périère @bernardzito · ℹ️ This wine is 💯 Pinot Noir from Saint Romain in Burgundy, France. Bernard Zito started his career in Burgundy as a consulting viticulturalist who specialized in Organic and Biodynamic Viticulture. Now he has his own Domaine. He roughly produces 4,000 bottles a year. 2010 was his first vintage. His vineyards are obviously Biodynamically farmed. He uses neutral oak barrels in production. This was tasted @lapaulee vertical tasting· 🍷1️⃣ 2015 - Bright ripe and crunchy red fruit. Strawberry and redcurrant. A good amount of florals, violets to the wine as well· 🍷2️⃣ 2012 - A bit lighter in weight and concentration than the 2015. Still a strong floral element· 🍷3️⃣ 2010 - Definitely the lightest of the 3 wines. Almost airy. Very crunchy red fruit aromas· 🔔 Domaine Bernard Zito is completely new to me. In fact it's hard to find any information about them on the internet. When I asked about the modern label, he said he doesn't have a family wine making history in Burgundy, so he didn't want to make something traditional. It definitely stands out and I commend his desire to stand out. Definitely a winemaker to keep an eye on in the future.
