The region exclusively makes white wines. The vines are densely planted on steep slopes of extinct underwater volcano. The soils are largely basalt and ancient marine sediment. This wine is made from Juhfark, Hárslevelü, and Furmint. Hand harvested and slow indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged 12-16 months in 500L Hungarian oak barrels. These wines were popular with Habsburg Royalty, who believed the wines would help them conceive male children, if consumed the same night· 👁 Medium gold color· 👃 Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of smoke, honey, hay, acacia, sea air, quince, and sunflower seeds· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, and medium+ body. The weight of the wine is most surprising. Very mineral on the palate. Smoke, wet rock, nutty, salt water, dried flowers, and really faint citrus. Medium+ length finish the is mineral, but subtle· 🔔 Very good wine. Everything is in balance. Great weight and lively acidity. Also goes down really easily.
