2011 Domaine Francois Bertheau - Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (90 pts) #winereview - Medium ruby color with a pale rim. Medium+intensity on the nose. Alot of smoke and earth aromas, almost as if the fruit could not stand up to the oak. Other aromas of wet leaves, oolong tea, underripe raspberry and red cherry. A faint aroma of violets hiding in the back of the nose. High acidity, medium chalky tannins, medium alcohol, and medium body. The palate is more expressive than the nose, with more fruit. Raspberry, red cherry, red currant, smoke, oolong tea, beet, and wet rock. Great texture for the wine. The finish is a bit bitter, but it is medium+ length. Significantly different than last time I tasted it. It could be in a transitional phase or could be starting to fall down.
