1985 Frick Winery - Pinot Noir Central Coast (82 pts) #winereview - Pale garnet color. Medium+ intensity on the nose. Forest floor, tree bark, leather, dried cherry, dried cranberry, and tobacco. High acidity (wow!), Medium- resolved and fine tannins, medium alcohol, and medium- body. The palate shows more fruit dried cranberry, dried cherry, fig, dark chocolate, bloody, red brick (I know that's a crappy reference), , salty, mushroom, leather, and tobacco. The finish is medium- length and highlights cherry and mushroom on the finish. This was a random purchase of a no name winery from a bygone era. I am often surprised and wowwed by wines purchased this way. This wine is enjoying it's final years on the slow decline.
