2015 Pheasant's Tears - Rkatsiteli (88 pts) #winereview - Medium Amber color with a noticeable haziness (unfiltered). Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of orange blossom, peach, peach skin, nectarine, orange peel, lanolin, and nutmeg. The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium- dusty and grippy tannins, medium- alcohol, and medium+ body. The palate shows quite a bit of tannin and really fuzzy texture. Peach skin is really strong throughout. Dried apricot, dried apple, nectarine, and orange peel. The finish shows flavors of earthy, nutmeg, and oats. The length is medium+ with a long linger fuzzy feeling on your tongue. Really impressed by this wine. Needs to be at cellar temp otherwise it shuts down. It's fairly singular on the nose, but the palate is very expressive. This wine craves to be consumed with food.
