Produttori del Barbaresco Moccagatta Riserva, 1978 - Barbaresco, Piemonte, Italy🇮🇹 Tasted: 27/7-2019 🍇100% Nebbiolo From one of the cooler vinyards of Barbaresco, Muncagotta (Moccagatta was the old name), from where Produttori del Barbaresco makes their lightest Barbaresco. The wine in its youth is known for its bright fruit and very floral aromas. In this case, it’s something else.. The bouquet is quite rustic with a scent of truffle, chanterelles, dried violet, tar and wet wood. The tannic level are quite high, but has softned a bit. The palate shows beef jerky, black tea, dried berries, leather and tobacco.
