If I could just smell one thing the rest of my life, this might be a winner... The grapes for “El Nogal” are selected from a small parcel of the top vineyard El Picon, and undergo maceration below 12*C to obtain the maximum aromatic intensity as possible, followed by the fermentation in French wooden vats. The wine is matured 18-22 months in new French barrels. This bouquet is an explosion - an overload of ripe cherry, blackberry and raspberry combined with a beautiful touch of dried rose, oak and espresso. And even for such a young vintage, it’s very open and expressive. Over the tongue, the wine is filled with cherry, prunes, dark chocolate, fresh rose, blueberry compote, vanilla and a balsamic finish. It’s all very well balanced with the velvety tannins and the soft and rounded acidity. This wine is really a product to be proud of. It’s drinking so well at the moment, but it will develop beautifully through the next decade.
