2017 Château Clinet - Pomerol @chateauclinet · ℹ️ Clinet is from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux, France. Clinet is one of the oldest vineyards in Pomerol, with traces of the vineyard's existence dating back to 1595. The blend is 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Clinet has a more significant than average percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon planted for a vineyard in Pomerol. Aged in French oak barrels with 72% being new oak· 🍷 This Château started popping on my radar again from the 2009 vintage. The 1989 and 1990 were both fabulous, but the 90s and early 2000s were never as impressive as the wines of the last decade. 2017 is tightly wound at the moment with a lot of concentrated fruit with a healthy amount of new oak cream and spice. Although full-bodied and stout tannins, the remarkable acidity keeps it fresh. Built to age!
