11/3/2021, 8:28:57 AM 2006 Taittinger - Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut (91 pts) @champagnetaittinger @kobrandwines · 🙋♂️ What is your favorite rosé Champagne🌹🍾❓· ℹ️ This Champagne is made from 100% Grand Cru grapes: 70% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 30% Chardonnay grapes come from the Côte des Blancs. 12% of the Pinot Noir is blended in as still red wine. Aged for a minimum of 8 years on the lees· 👁 Medium salmon color· 👃 Medium+ intensity on the nose. Aromas of rose, violets, red currant, Bing cherry, underripe raspberry, wet rock, toast, and dried leaves· 👄 The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (12.3%), and medium+ body. A medium+ length finish of bing cherry and dried leaves· 🔔 This wine was quite aromatic with a lot of floral aromas jumping out of the glass. For 8+ years of lees aging, it didn't have as many autolytic characteristics as it's Blanc de Blancs sister wine. Overall, quite vinous and this wine screams Pinot Noir. There is a richness and almost sweetness to this wine. 🤔 I wonder what the dosage was on this wine? I couldn't find it, but guessing around 8 g/l. This will continue to improve with age.
