Iole Rabasco passionately farms her tiny estate using organic, biodynamic and low intervention principles. Located in the village of Pianella, the heart of Abruzzo in eastern Italy, the land has never been touched by chemicals. Grapes are from vines in calcareous clay mixed with alluvial sediment and fossil remains. No added sulphur. The vineyard is located right next to the front gate of the house, from which the wine takes its name ‘Cancelli’ [meaning gate]. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aged in stainless steel, no added sulphur. Unfined and unfiltered. Dark garnet in colour with aromas of black cherry, black currant, smoke, sour cherry, roasted herbs, earth and Brothers Johnson funk. All the cherries [red, black and sour], red currant and red apple glide over grippy tannins and good acidity. Smoke, blackberry, earth and grilled herbs linger between each sip. Rustic and engaging. 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 12.5% Alcohol Vini Rabasco ‘Cancelli’ Vino Rosso 2017 #vinobiologico #vinnaturel #montepulcianodabruzzo #vinvivant #biodynamicwine #organicwine #vinobiodinamico #lowintervention #vinnaturel #nattywine #drinkbetterwine #drinkitalian #vinorosso #glouglou #italianwinelover #instavino #winereview #winelabel #winestagram #instawine #abruzzowine #vinirabasco #vinirabascocancelli #caravino
